Francis Griffin Memorial Garden

As with all Miners' Welfare Schemes, we exist to improve the quality of life for our local community. We operate a trading arm - Croy Miners' Welfare Society and Social Club - which generates an income that is then covenanted to the Croy Miners' Charitable Society to be used for charitable purposes in Croy.

The Croy Miners' Charitable Society is a community based organisation, run by locally elected management committees who are elected by the members.

Those involved in the management of the facility are voluntary trustees or management committee members.

With specific responsibilities laid out by the constitution under the authority of CISWO (Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation) and OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator).

For many years, the Society has played in important role in the social welfare of this community and this commitment has continued and increased to this day.

The Charity offers a range of services and supports a myriad of local groups from the facility with services and groups continually increasing.
